A Vision Study for Eagle Pass and Maverick County, Texas
Eagle Pass, Texas
Project Sponsor: Eagle Pass, Texas
Collaborator: Rural Business Program - Institute for Economic Development
Completed: April 2012
The primary purpose of this study is to develop a Vision Plan for the Downtown District in Eagle Pass, Texas that will lead to its redevelopment and revitalization. A second objective is to define the regional context of Maverick County and its relation to Piedras Negras. The Plan also examines how to bring in new businesses and sets the stage for a more comprehensive planning effort to restore the downtown district. The end result is a preliminary concept plan for the downtown business district that can be used as the foundation for more comprehensive and detailed economic planning studies. This concept plan also includes an assessment of the district’s economic and business potential.
