The interdisciplinary teams of architecture, construction, and interior design students will utilize a predetermined list of building materials and a set allowance, which shall be used to purchase additional materials and items to personalize the design as needed. Once completed, two of the playhouses will be auctioned to support CACP student activities and scholarships, while the remaining playhouse will be donated to the Battered Women and Children’s Shelter of San Antonio.

The playhouse design-build competition begins at Noon on Friday, March 31 and ends at 4pm on Saturday, April 1. The full-day CACP 15-Year Celebration kicks off with the Faculty Research Symposium at 8:30am on April 1 on the UTSA Downtown Campus; nationally renowned Harvard GSD Professor Alex Krieger, FAIA, will give a keynote lecture at 1:30pm. The rest of the day includes student and faculty exhibits, a graduate and undergraduate student open house, and an awards program that will announce design-build winners and recognize alumni.
