Ricardo Legorreta Remembered
For more than five decades, renowned Mexican architect Ricardo Legorreta conceived and built works of architecture that became known around the world, including the Camino Real Hotel in Mexico City, the MARCO Museum in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, and San Antonio’s own Central Library. On December 30, 2011, he passed away at the age of 80. In honor of his legacy, UTSA’s College of Architecture, UTSA’s Mexico Center, and the Instituto Cultural de México hosted “Ricardo Legorreta Remembered,” an evening that highlighted Legorreta’s architectural career. Presented in conjunction with the City of San Antonio’s Office of Cultural Affairs and the San Antonio Public Library, the tribute was held on Tuesday, February 21 on the UTSA Downtown Campus.
