Dialogues in Planning: The Future of San Antonio

March 3, 2016

As San Antonio moves toward a future population of over 3,100,000 people by 2050, are we prepared for the growth and development that will occur? The UTSA Center for Urban and Regional Planning Research, housed in the College of Architecture, Construction and Planning, hosted a panel discussion on this topic on March 3. The discussion, moderated by Darryl Byrd, explored the critical issues of land use, transportation, equity, and environmental impact that the City of San Antonio will face in the decades ahead. Panel members included John Dugan, Director of Planning and Community Development for the City of San Antonio; William Barker, Adjunct Associate Professor of Planning at UTSA; and Councilman Ron Nirenberg of the City of San Antonio.
