Darryl Ohlenbusch AIA has been a registered Architect in the State of Texas since 2004, and associated with the College of Architecture at UTSA since 1994. He received a Bachelor of Environmental Design degree from Texas A&M University in 1986, and a Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University in New York in 1993.

At UTSA, Ohlenbusch has taught courses in visual communications, architectural design, and architectural history, with a primary emphasis on upper-division design studio courses. His studio projects typically involve direct community involvement and an emphasis on sustainability and integrated practice, with frequent involvement by interior architects, engineers and building contractors in project reviews. He is also an adjunct instructor in the Department of Architecture at San Antonio College.

Ohlenbusch maintains an architectural practice in San Antonio, Texas, focused on small-scale preservation/adaptive reuse, as well as single-family residential. His first residential project was featured in “The New American House 2” (Whitney Library of Design, 1997) and he is a frequent contributor to columns and opinion pages in the local press.
