Travel & International Studies
The Urban and Regional Planning faculty at UTSA believe that travel and international learning experiences are important in the overall development of our planning graduates. The study of cities and regions in all parts of the world is an important learning experience in planning education. For the past two years a graduate study abroad course has been offered by planning faculty in Paris, France during the May mini-mester. The course explores the history of urban planning and design of Paris from antiquity to the present through a series of seminars and on-site visits.
The Graduate Planning Program also engages in field trips to local and Southwest Texas cities. Planning students are frequently involved in research projects undertaken by the Center for Urban and Regional Planning Research which assists cities and regions throughout Texas.
