Travel & International Studies
The Architecture faculty here at UTSA believe that travel and global experiences are very important in the overall development of our graduates. The study of local, regional, and international cultures, places, and architecture is a vital piece of an architectural education, and development of life skills in general. We encourage our students to travel widely to more directly understand, from an architectural perspective, the context, meaning, and experiential characteristics of buildings, places, and environments in first person. There is no substitute for being there. So we expect them to find time and means to travel and explore in San Antonio, Texas (esp. the world class architecture to be found in Houston, Dallas, Austin, and elsewhere), America, and the World.
To help with this the College of Architecture has established the signature experience to help propel students to experience the world through our study abroad programs. For more information click here.
